Teaching

Elizabeth has spent her career as an educator. She was the first full-time studio art teacher in the NC Community College system, at Central Piedmont Community College. Her passion for her students and engaging them in the arts moved beyond the classroom, and inspired her to create a non-profit organization.

Founded over 20 years ago, the Airy Knoll Arts Project is an intensive week-long summer residential art program of artmaking and writing on a farm in the middle of the Virginia Shenandoah Valley. Classes continue online through the year, and culminate in a yearly art show.

Multiple sessions are offered during the summer. Visit
online at airyknollarts.org for more information or to contact us about classes, or how to make donations. The program and student registrations are supported by generous donations.
