My oil paintings, usually five to six feet in height or width, have as their subject the effect of light as reflected or refracted. My interest is in capturing the effect of light falling on leaves as they are swept by the wind, or the luminance of a maple leaf encased in ice. The best of my paintings could be described as abstracted realism.
